Division of Industrial Data Science

The Division is looking for an experienced Professor/Associate Professor who will (1) teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in related disciplines; (2) conduct high-quality research in cutting-edge areas such as Industrial AI and Data Intelligence, Embodied AI and Robotics, Autonomous and Multi-Agent Systems, Edge Intelligence, Intelligent Sensing and Control, Smart Healthcare, Mobile Computing, Smart Manufacturing, Transportation and Infrastructure; (3) secure external competitive research funding; (4) undertake research, programme/curriculum development and administration; (5) provide mentorship to junior faculty leading to teaching, research and service excellence; (6) undertake academic and departmental administrative duties; and (7) perform any other duties as assigned by the Person in Charge of the Division or the School.

General Requirements
Candidates should have (i) a doctoral degree in relevant fields; (ii) a strong publication record and citation impact; (iii) experience in external funding applications; (iv) at least six years of experience in a tenure-track academic appointment; (v) demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including curriculum development and student mentorship; (vi) ability to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations within the institution and build partnerships with industry and academic networks globally; and (vii) excellent communication skills with good command of English.

Appointment
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.
