Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer (Image Design) Youth College (Yeo Chei Man) Department / Section : Design and Information Technology Section Ref. no : O/YC(YCM)-D&IT/PTD_AL(ID)/11/26 Subject Areas: (i) Fashion Image Design (Image Styling) Major Duties: (a) To perform teaching duties, including student assessment, and to operate and maintain training facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning; (b) To assist and provide academic support to programme development, learning support to student projects, and to perform teaching duties where necessary; (c) To assist and develop programme curriculum and teaching and learning packages; (d) To perform duties in relation to student and academic administration; (e) To provide academic counselling; (f) To assist in programme validation and accreditation; and (g) To participate in networking with industry/ industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to fashion Image shows, performances, consultancy services, short courses, seminars and exhibitions, where necessary. Requirements: (a) A recognised degree in Fashion, Image Design or relevant field, or equivalent qualifications, preferably with post-graduate qualifications; (b) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (c) Good presentation, teaching, facilitation, fashion technical and digital skills; (d) A good team player, able to work on own initiative and willing to meet challenges; (e) Good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage; (f) Relevant teaching in vocational skills training and/ or experience in fashion image, hairstyling and makeup, photography, the creative industries, or live shows and events, would be an advantage. Notes: (1) The post is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic/professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. (4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus. (5) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
