Milestone 1: DOCX/XLSX Translation App MVP

For the first milestone of my translation-management web app, I need solid file handling delivered in one week. The goal is simple: DOCX and XLSX files must move through the system, be split into translation segments, and return to their original formats looking exactly the same.

Here is what I expect:

• Upload and parse DOCX and XLSX with equal priority.
• Generate a clean, ordered list of text segments ready for future translation work.
• Re-assemble and export the files so every style, table, image, header, footer, column width, and other layout detail remains untouched.
• Provide an automated round-trip test suite that compares the original and exported versions and raises a clear alert if anything differs.

The tech stack is your choice; experience with libraries such as python-docx, XlsxWriter, OpenXML SDK, or JavaScript equivalents will help you move fast, but I’m open to alternatives as long as the deliverables meet the above acceptance criteria.

Hand over the source code in a Git-ready repository along with a short README that explains local setup, how to run the tests, and a sample file set you used for verification. If the exported files open in Word and Excel with no visible change, the milestone is complete.
