Job Description
I need temporary cover from an engineer who is comfortable jumping straight in to set up and modify our on-premise network gear. The bulk of the work is hands-on: racking, patching and then configuring both Cisco routers/switches and several Huawei switches that sit at the access layer. Typical tasks include creating new VLANs, adjusting existing ones, and assigning the right ports so our project teams get the connectivity they need without downtime.
You will receive the current running configs and a change plan; once the updates are applied I expect a clean backup of the new configs plus a short change log noting every command issued. If something goes wrong, basic troubleshooting to restore service is part of the engagement.
A solid CCNA-level skill set, familiarity with standard Cisco IOS commands, and enough experience on Huawei to mirror the same changes are what I’m after. Remote work is fine for the configuration, but you may need to guide an onsite smart-hands technician for any physical moves or reloads.
Deliverables:
• Updated and functioning VLAN/port configurations on all designated Cisco and Huawei switches
• Post-change configuration backups and concise documentation of steps taken
• Confirmation that all affected endpoints have regained connectivity
I’m ready to start as soon as you are and will be available throughout the change window for quick decisions or escalations.
