Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer

Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) Department / Section : Department of Construction Ref. no : O/TY-CN/PTD_L/10/26 Major Duties: (a) To perform teaching related duties, including conducting lectures, seminars and laboratory sessions, preparation for teaching and learning packages, setting and marking students’ assessments, supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement; (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; (c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. Requirements: (a) A recognised degree in Architecture, BIM, Civil Engineering, Building Technology/Construction and Management, Surveying (Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying), and Land Surveying & GIS or equivalent professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience; (c) Preference will be given to members of the relevant professional institutions; (d) Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; and (e) Good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. Notes: (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. (3) Successful applicants may be required to work on different campuses.
