Job Description
I want to turn the Goldenmorning GMT177-10 rectangular TFT into a building block for a truly modular display wall. Each 3 × 15 frame will carry forty-five of these 1.77″ screens and several frames can lock together side-by-side to create one seamless, rectangular canvas. The moment a single screen dies, I should be able to pull it straight out from the front—much like snapping a Lego tile free—drop in a replacement and be up and running again, no soldering and no need to strip the whole panel.
On the electronics side I need the full production package: schematic, multilayer PCB, power distribution, high-speed data bus that daisy-chains frames, and a simple address-discovery scheme so every module knows its position the instant it’s plugged in. Firmware should sit on a cost-effective MCU (an ESP32, STM32 or another part you can justify) and expose a clean WebSocket or similar API so the front-end never has to worry about timing tricks.
Inside the browser I want a responsive editor that lets anybody
• draw pixel art and save it,
• upload and play looping animations, and
• drop in clocks or other live information streams.
Think HTML5 Canvas plus a small Node.js (or comparable) back-end that talks directly to the wall, all served from the controller itself so there is zero software to install on a PC.
What will convince me the design is production-ready:
• two fully populated frames running side-by-side with no visual gaps,
• hot-swap of any single TFT with the rest of the wall still displaying, and
• browser control of artwork, animations and a real-time clock showcase.
Hand over the CAD files, Gerbers, firmware source (GitHub), front-end code and a concise assembly/service manual so I can press “go” on manufacturing straight after acceptance.
There are reference designs for the display pcb and specification of the display present.
