Job Description
Job Description: I am a Sydney-based founder seeking a solo, highly skilled Mechanical CAD Engineer to finalize the 3D models and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) for a patented wearable technology device: the Smart-Cuff Mirror.
This is a rigid, wrist-mounted wearable designed for enterprise logistics and aviation. It features a unique 360-degree sliding track, a multi-axis friction hinge, and a 45-degree Pepper's Ghost holographic optical assembly. The final prototype will be 5-axis CNC machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum.
Scope of Work & Challenges:
Micro-Tolerances: You will be designing the enclosure to house a specific 3.92-inch AMOLED flat screen (Tailorpixels module) and a 45-degree optical combiner plate that must fold flat.
RF-Transparency: Because the chassis is 7075 Aluminum (a Faraday cage), you must design RF-transparent windows/cutouts for internal UWB, UHF RFID, and Bluetooth modules.
Hardware Cavities: Allocation of internal space for a PCBA bay, tiny MEMS micro-speaker acoustic ports, and perimeter LED light channels.
DFM: The design must be optimized first for a plastic 3D-printed fit-test, and ultimately for 5-axis CNC machining.
Required Deliverables:
Complete 3D CAD assembly models and individual component parts.
Manufacturing-ready .STEP and .IGES files.
.STL files optimized for rapid 3D printing and CNC machining.
Exploded-view mechanical drawings detailing clearances.
Requirements:
Location: You MUST be located in Sydney, NSW. I want to be able to hand you the physical 3D-printed fit-test and discuss the prototype locally. Do not apply if you are outside of Sydney or an overseas
