You’ll be one of three beta readers for my 48,000-word manuscript, “Who Decided This Was Normal?”, a sometimes-funny, always-argued look at the hidden rules, forms and costs of everyday Australian life. Because the book spends a good chunk of its pages on tax and banking, your keen eye for how those systems really feel on the ground will be invaluable. I’m after everyday reader reactions rather than line edits, but I do want thoughtful, constructive criticism on how convincingly the arguments land.
I’ll send you a water-marked PDF in early November. Within three weeks, please return short-to-paragraph answers to these five prompts:
• Where did you first start skimming?
• Where did you stop, if you did?
• Which claim didn’t you believe?
• Which passage stuck with you the next day?
• Who would you hand the book to?
Backgrounds in healthcare, health administration or government are a definite plus, as some chapters dive into Medicare policy and public-sector decision making.
Let me know in your bid what you like to read for pleasure
