Technician

Technician Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) 部門 : Aviation and Maritime Education Centre 參考編號 : C/TY-AMEC/TECH/10/26-AP1 Major Duties: (a) To assist in workshops / laboratories equipment installation / maintenance, and training session preparation; (b) To assist the lecturers during laboratory / practical classes; (c) To assist in trouble shooting, acquisition and installation of all equipment, hardware and software; (d) To assist in the implementation of safety measures in laboratories and maintaining the tidiness of the workshops / laboratories; (e) To assist in the procurement and inventory control of relevant stores and equipment; and (f) To provide technical support for teaching activities, as well as special projects, events and exhibitions. Requirements: (a) A recognised diploma or higher certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or other relevant disciplines; (b) At least 2 years of relevant experience in Aircraft Maintenance or related fields; (c) Basic knowledge of IT equipment (Windows PC), audio-visual (AV) trouble-shooting skills, and proficiency in MS Office are preferred; (d) Good communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Chinese; and (e) Candidates with hands-on experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: (i) Aircraft Maintenance; (ii) Flight or maritime simulator setup and maintenance; (iii) Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques; (iv) Painting and Coating skills for aircraft; (v) Composite Material repair for aircraft components; (vi) Sheet Metal repair for aircraft components; and (vii) IT equipment (Windows PC) setup and maintenance. Notes: (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a trade test. (3) The work location is in IVE (Tsing Yi). (4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and at designated places as assigned.
