Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) provide administrative support to undergraduate/postgraduate programmes, including but not limited to admission, subject registration, timetabling, examination and other teaching related activities;

(b) assist in the planning, co-ordination and implementation of teaching and learning activities, departmental events and projects;

(c) provide secretarial and administrative service to committees and meetings;

(d) compile reports, proposals and maintain effective record systems and databases;

(e) supervise junior staff and support general office administration; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant work experience, preferably gained in tertiary institutions;

(b) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua;

(c) have good computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.

(d) have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(e) be detailed-minded with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently;

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
