Term / Temporary Assistant Lecturer (English and Communication) Hong Kong Design Institute and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee) 部門 : Language Centre 參考編號 : O/DILWL-LC/Term_Temp_AL(EC)/09/26 Major Duties: (a) To perform teaching duties and assist in supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement; (b) To assist in carrying out duties in relation to student and academic administration; (c) To assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; (d) To assist in organising language enhancement activities; and (e) To participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre. Requirements: (a) (i) A recognised degree in English Language / English Language and Literature / Language Studies (English) / Linguistics / Education (English) / English Communication / Translation (English) or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; OR (ii) A recognised degree in a non-relevant field; AND a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (major in English), Teaching English as a Second Language or Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and English-teaching certification recognised by TESL Canada) or English for Specific Purposes (ESP). A transcript with course details including the number of hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration; (b) Good communication, presentation and digital skills; and (c) A good team player, able to work on own initiative and willing to meet challenges. Notes: (1) The post is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (3) Preference will be given to candidates who have relevant teaching experience. (4) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
