Project Officer (Mega Sports Events Talent)

Project Officer (Mega Sports Events Talent) Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan) Department / Section : Department of Hospitality Ref. no : C/CW-HT/PO(MSET)/09/26-AP1 Major Duties: (a) To support the implementation of the Nurturing Talent for the Mega Sports Events initiative and liaise with various industry stakeholders; (b) To work with internal and external partners for the development, promotion and delivery of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) programmes under the initiative; (c) To perform teaching duties for award-bearing and CPE programmes in relation to sports and mega events; (d) To review the curricula of mega sports event-related programmes for enhancing graduates' readiness for supporting the mega sports events sector; (e) To support quality assurance in the staging of activities and events related to the partnership with industry stakeholders; (f) To assist in expanding the GBA network in the mega sports events sector and liaise with sports education institutes, sports venue providers, sports associations, and sports event organisers in the GBA to facilitate professional exchanges and internship opportunities; (g) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; and (h) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes. Requirements: (a) A recognised degree in Sports or Event management or professional qualifications, or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience preferably in the sports or event industries; (c) Good communication and presentation skills in both English, Chinese and Putonghua; and (d) Good records of linkage with the industries or professional bodies would be an advantage. Notes: (1) The post is at the rank of Lecturer. (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (3) Shortlisted applicants will be required to take a written assessment. (4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
