Job Description

Duties

(a) To engage with enterprises in the life and health technology industry with potential to land and/or expand in Hong Kong through understanding the enterprises’ background and needs, introducing relevant initiatives and measures, and following up on funding applications and landing;
(b) To provide secretariat support for meetings and engagement exercises with I&T enterprises, industry players and stakeholders;
(c) To liaise with Government bureaux / departments, other quangos and stakeholders on facilitating the landing / expansion of strategic enterprises in Hong Kong;
(d) To provide liaison and logistical support for duty visits and promotional events under the context of promoting new industrialisation and facilitating enterprises; and
(e) To undertake any other duties as assigned by seniors.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should have –

(a) a bachelor’s degree or above from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) or related field [Note1];
(b) either (i) at least 3 years of post-qualification work experience [Note 2] in project coordination / business development, or (ii) at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience [Note 2] in project coordination / business development in the industry of life and health technology and/or innovation and technology (I&T) field [Note 3];
(c) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent [Note 4];
(d) good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills;
(e) good command of both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English;
(f) knowledge of the government or quasi-government system is preferable; and
(g) awareness of developments and trends with respect to industry of life and health technology, and preferably exposure to Chinese Mainland / international enterprises, as well as work experience in the industry.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 18 months.

Benefits

(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme, in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(b) Appointee will be eligible for 14 days of paid annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

If application forms (G.F.340) are incomplete or submitted in person, by post, by fax or by email, or the applicants fail to submit the required documents to the designated email account, the applications will not be considered. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about six to eight weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by email to recruit@itib.gov.hk.
