Term Lecturer Hong Kong Design Institute Department / Section : Department of Communication Design Ref. no : O/DI-DCD/Term_L/09/26 Major Duties: (a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement; (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; (c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of the programmes; and (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. Requirements: (a) A recognised degree in Advertising / Graphic Design / Visual Communication, or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and / or industry experience, preferably with international exposure and at an appropriate level of responsibility; (c) Strong leadership, interpersonal and team building skills; (d) Professional portfolio and high-impact presentation skills; (e) Creative problem-solving abilities and advanced storytelling techniques; (f) A high level of proficiency in both English, Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; (g) Proficient with knowledge and hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas would be an advantage: (i) Creative Strategy and Branding; (ii) Design Development & Execution; (iii) Digital Campaign Planning; (iv) Social Media Content Creation; (v) Intellectual Property (IP) Design; (vi) AI-Augmented Production Workflows; and (h) Proven records in organising events, exhibition, large-scale projects like mural design or illustrative promotional campaigns and linkage with industry / professional bodies would be an advantage. Notes: (1) Applicants with less relevant experience and / or qualification may be considered for the post of Term Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (3) Shortlisted candidate will be required to take a written assessment. (4) Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis.
