Remote Revit HVAC Layout Designer

I’m looking for a Revit-savvy mechanical designer who can jump straight into live projects and take full ownership of the HVAC ductwork package. The bulk of the work centres on commercial and industrial buildings, so you’ll regularly be routing medium- to large-scale systems, sizing ductwork, dropping in air-handling units, VAVs, and related gear, and then making sure everything plays nicely with the structural, electrical, and fire-protection models.

Here’s what you’ll actually be doing once the model opens:

• Lay out and size supply, return, and exhaust ductwork directly in Revit, following the project’s airflow schedules and pressure drop criteria.
• Place all major and minor HVAC equipment, create the connections, and tag everything clearly for construction.
• Coordinate your HVAC runs against architectural, structural, and MEP models, resolving clashes before they ever hit the field, and leave the model clean for Navisworks or Forma reviews.
• Produce detailed, construction-ready sheets—plans, sections, and enlarged details—that a contractor can build from without RFI churn.

To keep things smooth:

• You’ll need at least three years of hands-on mechanical design work in Revit.
• Plan on 12–24 hours a week to start; if we click, there’s room to scale to full time.
• Work is 100 % remote and your schedule is largely your own, but I’ll occasionally need you on a quick screen-share or coordination call during Eastern US business hours to align with other consultants.
