Technician

Technician Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan) 部門 : Department of Health and Life Sciences 參考編號 : C/CW-HLS/TECH/09/26-AP1 Major Duties: (a) To provide technical support to teaching activities as well as special projects and events; (b) To assist in laboratory equipment installation / maintenance and training session preparation; (c) To assist lecturers during laboratory / practical classes; (d) To assist in the procurement and inventory control of relevant stores and equipment; and (e) To assist in the implementation of safety measures in laboratories. Requirements: (a) A recognised diploma or higher certificate in the areas of Pharmaceutical Technology / Science, Chinese Medicines, Microbiology, Chemistry, or relevant disciplines; (b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably with experience in laboratory or pharmaceutical manufacturing; (c) Knowledge of safety and statutory management for endangered ingredients and / or dangerous substances; (d) Proficiency in both English and Chinese; (e) Good work initiative and be a good team player; and (f) Solid experience in both laboratory operation and maintenance of equipment / instrumentation are highly preferred. Notes: (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (2) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
