Job Description

Duties

(a) To assist in monitoring the implementation of the Territory-wide System Assessment (TSA) by attending various seminars and Moderation Committee meetings of Mathematics;
(b) To provide subject-specific comments/views regarding the implementation of the TSA, including commenting on the reports and documents prepared and submitted by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA);
(c) To assist in providing the professional, administrative and logistical support for the meetings of the Coordinating Committee on Basic Competency Assessment (BCA) and Assessment Literacy;
(d) To continue with the development of the Student Assessment Repository (STAR) assessment items as well as learning and teaching resources, to complete the entire set of the full curriculum resources for Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3;
(e) To assist from a subject expertise angle in the enhancement of the STAR platform, especially on the good use of assessment data and incorporation of e-assessment into the daily routine learning-teaching-assessment cycle at individual schools;
(f) To conduct desktop research on the use of current artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and trends for Digital Education in classroom environment;
(g) To provide Hong Kong Education City with professional support in the enhancement and further development of the STAR platform, especially in the exploration of integration of an intelligent feedback system, data analytics dashboard, machine learning algorithms and AI elements;
(h) To coordinate the pilot programme with network schools in the use of AI elements on the STAR platform and assist in promoting the use of STAR to all primary and secondary schools;
(i) To assist in organising and conducting professional development programmes on enhancement of assessment literacy of teachers at primary/secondary levels; and
(j) To perform other administrative duties as assigned by the supervising officers.

Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree majoring in Mathematics or a Bachelor of Education degree majoring in Mathematics, or equivalent [See Note (1)];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (1)];
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (2)];
(d) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience [as specified in (a) and (b)] in teaching and/or curriculum development in the subject of Mathematics at primary or secondary level in the local context, of which at least 4 years relevant experience should be at secondary school level. Candidates with 4 or more years of experience at relevant supervisory level preferred [See Note (3)]; and
(e) Candidates with (i) good communication and interpersonal skills; (ii) good computer skills; and (iii) knowledge and experience in development of resource materials for learning and assessment at primary and/or secondary levels with the use of multimedia preferred.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms up for 1.5 years.

Benefits

(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave/paternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with
consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
