Job Description

Duties

Project Assistants of the Yuen Long District Office (YLDO) are assigned with various duties in accordance with their work posts. The duties are listed as below:

(1) To organize community involvement campaigns and projects;
(2) To provide clerical, records management and secretarial support for the daily operation in Yuen Long District Office / District Council and the relevant committees/working groups under the District Council;
(3) To assist in administrative matters and operations relating to district management;
(4) To assist in relevant election activities (if applicable);
(5) To handle enquiries and complaints; and
(6) To perform other duties as required.

Entry Requirements

The candidates should have

(1) Level 2 or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination(HKCEE), or equivalent; and
(2) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent

Terms of Appointment

(a) Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
(b) A contract from the date of appointment to 31.3.2027 will be offered to the successful candidate. Furtherrenewal should be subject to satisfactory performance, operational needs and availability of resources.
(c) The appointee may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays or at non-office hours andperform outdoor duties if necessary.

(1) Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance,where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

(1) Candidates must apply online through the G.F. 340 Online Application System of the Civil Service Bureau(https://www.csb.gov.hk), and submit copies of academic qualifications, language proficiency certificates, and documentary proof of working experience as attachments to yldo_recruitment@had.gov.hk on or before the closing date. Candidates should mark the on-line application number and “For application of Project Assistant” in their email subject clearly. Late applications will not be accepted.
(2) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
(3) Candidates should state clearly in their applications their full record of employment, academic qualifications and Chinese and English languages.
(4) Applications which are incomplete, submitted through a method other than the G.F. 340 Online Application System of the Civil Service Bureau or without supporting documents submitted by email will not be considered.
(5) Candidates who are invited for selection interview will be required to produce the original copies of the official transcripts, certificates and proof of working experience for verification. The application will be deemed unsuccessful if any applicant fails to produce the original copies of the required documents for verification.
(6) Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation (by email or by post) in about eight weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
